About
Uu Ang means a see saw of a child on the knees of their mum or dad, who is lying down; singing about different cucumbers and baskets.
This song is literally a lesson about different kinds of cucumber and various types of baskets to carry them in. It is usually sung by a parent to the child where the child sits on the feet of the parent and lifted up and down like a see saw.
Background: In the days when there were no dolls to play with, children (mainly girls) played with cucumber as toys or baby dolls). Tai’h is the fond reference to a beloved son and Emu’ , a beloved daughter.
